OCTOBER 16, 2011:
The Gift of Hearing Foundation team and their wonderful
friends laced up their sneakers for a jaunty 3.1 mile
walk along the famous Charles River for the sixth annual
2011 Hearing Loss Association of America’s New England
Walk4Hearing. It was held on a sunny yet windy day at
the Artesani Park in Brighton, MA. It was a
well-attended event, with over 300 people of various
teams and alliances. Fourteen members of the GOHF Team
banded together and raised a hefty 92% of the $1,500
goal - an absolute success for our first year of
participation! |

The GOHF extends
thanks to everyone who generously sponsored our team for
the walk. Your donation helps the HLAA continue with
their efforts in increasing awareness about hearing
loss, minimizing the stigma associated with wearing
hearing aids and cochlear implants, and expanding their
services and programs to help people with hearing loss
live rich and productive lives.
In addition to the
walk, Ronnie Adler, National Walk4Hearing Manager for
HLAA, surprised Board member Barbara Abineri with a most
deserved Recognition Award for her indefatigable
volunteering for the 2011 New England Walk4Hearing.
Congrats, Barb! |
