Peter Congleton - University of Hartford
Mr. Congleton has fifteen-years of experience in the philanthropic fundraising arena with demonstrated relationship-building skills and strong belief in the importance of donor-centric fundraising toward the achievement of mission-related goals.
He is currently Development Director at the University of Hartford and has held similar positions in other academic institutions including Clarke School for the Deaf and Deerfield Academy.
Upon receiving his BA from Wesleyan University, Peter became a U.S. Naval Aviator where he reached the rank of Commander before joining the private sector as a sales representative in 1988. He then joined the U.S. Naval reserves, becoming a Lieutenant Commander, until 1994.
Peter also participates on many philanthropic boards and councils including Clarke School for the Deaf National Development Council, Planned Giving Groups, Leave a Legacy, and the Brain Injury Association.
His involvement with the Gift of Hearing Foundation is a result of his son's triumph over deafness with the success of a cochlear implant.
