Barbara Herrmann, PhD - Audiology Department

Dr. Herrmann's accomplished career in Audiology spanning almost three decades has been dedicated to the deaf and hard of hearing communities in almost every facet.
Her contributions to the field include academic, clinical, and professional positions and affiliations with institutions that include Mass Eye and Ear Institute, Harvard University and Medical School, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She is currently a Clinical Associate in the Audiology Department of Massachusetts Eye&Ear with academic appointments as Assistant Professor, Clinical Full-time Department of Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School and as Faculty member of Speech and Hearing Sciences in the Division of Health Science and Technology at MIT and Harvard University.
Dr. Herrmann also serves on the Advisory Board and co-chaired the Research and Surveillance Committee for Newborn Hearing Screening with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She is also on the Cochlear Implant Review Board of Massachusetts Eye and Ear.
Barbara contributes to the field of Audiology as researcher, public speaker and author. She is a member of numerous professional societies and editorial boards.
She received her B.A., M.S. and PhD in Communication Disorders - Audiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
